Family Day

My kids are very excited when they informed us about their school activity on Sunday. They said the school will celebrate Family Day, a yearly event where lots of fun and exciting games and kids’ presentations can be expected. Since my kids are transferee, it’s their first time to experience this event that’s why they are really excited about it.
My daughter said there are MP3 players and other items to be given away as prizes for the raffle. She wants to bring home the MP3 player that’s why she’s very eager to come. Well, who knows luck could be on her side on Sunday. But winner or not I’m sure they will bring home the priceless memories they will get from this Family Day celebration.

Surprise call

Last week my cousin and “kababata” made a surprise call. The last time we talked was 2 years ago. That time I heard the depressing news from her that she was a victim of an Online Investment Scam. She said at first it was promising, her investment multiplied so fast. She and her family even had a chance to travel to Hongkong because of that. But eventually her joy did not lasts, her investment just blew away when they found out that the Company has gone away with their hard earned money. What’s worst with my cousin is, since she’s a bank teller she convinced some of the bank clients to join with her. And what happened after that incident, all of those bank clients were after her! They demand that she returned all the money they invested. My cousin was so helpless, she was crying while sharing her sad fate. She just pleaded with her branch manager not to report the incident to the management because definitely she will be terminated. At that time I said to her that financially I can’t help her and the only thing I can offer is my prayer that God will help and deliver her from her situation.
After that conversation for 2 years I did not hear from her, until last week she called me up again. When I heard her voice I thought she has already recovered. But she told me that there were some people still harassing her, she tried her best to return a part of their investment, but they want her to return their 100% investment which she’s not capable of. Now her plan was to go to USA, she said her husband’s sister is in America and that he wants her to try to work there. Last year her husband went to US as tourist and now that he’s back in our country he said it’s now her turn. She said she really do not want to leave her job and that she wants to prove that she doesn’t want people to think that she’s escaping from them and that she don’t want to give in to trials, but then since she was granted with US visa, her branch manager advised her to just file for resignation rather than be terminated, because once terminated she can’t get separation pay and other benefits from the company.
Though it’s hard for my cousin to leave her three kids, her youngest is only 3 months old, she has decided to go to US, she said it’s her only way to financial recovery. She told me she needs money right away to buy for a plane ticket and she asked me if I know where she could apply for a loan. She said it’s her only way to get money because her family already spent for the wedding of her youngest brother and that she can’t ask for financial help. Again even if I wanted to lend her the money she needs, I have nothing to give because of my own situation. I just recommend some financial institutions where she can get quick cash loans. After an hour we ended our conversation with a promise that we’ll see each other before she leaves for US. I’d like to talk to her and pray for her personally, I hope she’ll be able to visit here in our province.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to my Tatay! Thank you so much for everything. I pray that God will continue to bless you with long life, good health, happiness, and fulfillment of your dreams. We love you!

Daddy's Corner

I got another tag from aeirin and i want to thank her for sharing this with me.

I will not brag about my hubby, rather I just want to share with you who and what he is to us.

My hubby is a simple man who loves to play basketball, he doesn’t smoke though he drinks alcohol occasionally. He may not be a perfect husband and a perfect father, he may have shortcomings sometimes still I’m happy to have him.

He is better in doing all household chores than me and that’s because he is a househusband. Yes, he stays at home doing everything for me and my two kids.

Why he chose to stay at home? He did it as a sacrifice. There are lots of things I can no longer do or is hard for me to do when I became partially disabled due to an accident. Instead of hiring other people to do it for me, he decided to quit his job and takes care of everything. Now I have a hubby, a father to my two kids, a house help, and a driver :) Others may look down on him for of what he is right now, but for me doing such thing is something to admire.

We’ve been married for almost 13 years, we went through tough times and yet we remain holding on to each other. We are not soul mates, I guess we are just destined for each other.

Tribute to Mothers

Today is a time of commemoration and celebration for Moms.

To all mothers in the world..

To my mother thank you for everything that you have done for me and my family, you truly are God's gift to us. I love so much! :)

Mom's 60th birthday

Last Saturday May 3, was my mother's 60th birthday. We had a simple celebration in their home. She said she just want to celebrate her birthday simply with her children and grandchildren and decided not to invite so many guests. She only called her sister who's just nearby her house. The party food was just enough for us, I made some macaroni salad and my mom cooked pancit canton. My sister and sister-in-law brought the cakes. My brother and his family who's in charge of the ice cream was not able to come, they had to rush his father-in-law to a hospital due to a minor accident.

I can't explain the feeling but you see, ice cream is always a part of birthday parties, and without ice cream birthday is not complete! But anyway it's just me hehe.. the kids still had fun eating cakes. The cake bought from Goldilocks is rocky road flavor and another chocolate flavored from Red Ribbon.

We also missed our two bothers, one is in Dubai and our youngest is in a hospital duty. I know my mother would have been happier if we are complete, good thing all of her apos were there and their presence made her happy enough on her special day. Since most of her apos are of the same age the day was full of kulitan. There are times they quarrel on some petty things that's why sometimes meron ding iyakan.hehe..

I know my mother deserves more than what we had prepared for her after all the hardships she went through intaking care of us. If only I had the financial means I would like to treat her to a first class spa and massage center. I know she's really overworked and she'll surely love the experience of full body scrub and massage. I hope on her next birthday I can finally give it to her.
