Acne treatments for teens

My daughter’s simple pimple problem before has become a serious acne problem already. I brought her once to a facial clinic where she had facial treatment but to no avail. Because my daughter has low tolerance in pain she really cried when her pimples were pricked. And because of that my daughter had a trauma and doesn’t want to do another facial again. So i didn’t force her anymore and besides I don’t want to see her again suffer from that painful facial treatment.

Do you know any new acne treatments available for teens? I prefer natural treatment and not costly if possible..

Teen acne

In my previous post i shared some tips on how to use blended cucumber as an alternative treatment to acne. I did more research on acne treatments and this time it's for my teenage daughter. Like most teens she also experience having pimples or mild acne. Mild acne is considered a normal condition of puberty continuing throughout the teen years. During puberty increased levels of androgen hormones stimulate the sebaceous glands to grow and produce more sebum. When there is excess sebum production, the follicle can become plugged, the skin cells of the follicle lining shed more quickly and can form sticky clumps. Bacteria and dead skin cells can combine with the sebum in the clogged pore.

For teenagers it is best to treat acne the natural way, here are some general tips to make the skin pimple or acne free:
To cleanse an acne-prone face, rinse well with warm water and pat dry with a clean soft towel. Gently wash it twice a day. Avoid scrubbing with washcloth or use harsh, high pH soaps or abrasive cleansers, too much friction can worsen the acne. A mild calendula soap is fine. Avoid over washing your face since this can make it dry and irritated. Skin must maintain the proper pH levels to be healthy. A lot of skin products contain chemicals, preservatives, fragrance or coloring agents, these chemicals can make the problem worse. So beware of using these types of skin products, and make sure they are hypoallergenic or made of organic or natural ingredients.
