Clarinet reeds

My son told me yesterday that they need clarinet reeds to bring in their school next week. I have no idea about it so I just google it. I learned that it is wafer-thin piece of cane that helps the clarinet to produce good sound. A good reed is very important for a good sound and tone, so it's important to be able to identify one. It is important to choose a good brand since all brands make and sell their reeds a little differently. Rico, a US brand, is popular with all clarinetists, and is often recommended for beginners. It also makes reeds under the La Voz and Mitchell Lurie names. Vandoren is a popular French brand.
