Those events occur in the realm beyond man's control. In places man can influence, it's even worse. Our courts, prisons, hospital, and schools testify of our struggles, and many feel they've nowhere to turn, no hope to clutch.
But from the book of Psalms we'll find hope. Psalm 46:1-3 says, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its water roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging."
God is as near as a bended knee. He loves a humble and contrite spirit, and he has promised never to forsake you. When the storms of life rage, remember your only real refuge. He is always there standing on the firmest ground, offering the ultimate life preserver in His Son, Jesus Christ. All efforts except those performed in the shadow of Calvary are in vain.
"Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I wll be exalted in the earth."--Psalm 46:10
